Black girls rock shades light on black phenomenal women/girls. It’s a positive award show that is geared toward honoring and empowering African American women-girls. Black Girls Rock values respect, honor, dignity, loving yourself as a colored female, and making a change in the world. It contributes honor of black women all around the world, coming from sereval different fields. Fields such as music, of course, medicine and entrepreneurship; just to name a few. Beverly Bonds is the creator behind this powerful awards show. She is too a black women and can attest to the experiences of a black female whether it's inter-emotions or being discriminated against.
B.E.T stands for Black Entertainment Television. Its purpose was directly toward African Americans A.k.A black people. While it is hugely black audiences there is some white and other races that watches this t.v channel. The purpose of creating B.E.T were to contribute honor to the African American community, while giving African Americans actresses air time on the world wide t.v network. The makers thought behind this was that there was a lot of white channels that didn't play black movies or shows back then. These channels includes MTV and VH1. B.E.T values black entertainment news, good and bad news around the world about African Americans, black history month, and encouraging African Americans to love the skin they're in along with other things. The Channel airs shows like black girls rock, 106&Park, Being Mary Jane, and Just keke which all influences or relate to African American culture in modern day.
