Commonly, ALL coaches have different techniques they show their players. Some of these techniques may be the same; however, they are most likely not communicated or used the same way throughout every coach who uses the technique. The most common technique that is however used the same way by every coach is the clipboard technique. ALL coaches, at some point in the season, use a clipboard to communicate to their players what they want for them to do on the court and sometimes even off. This clipboard on the court is the walkie-talkie in a crowded elementary school parking, trying to help children find their cars to go home; it gets information from one teammate to the next on a floor full of players who are initially trying to do the same thing, get the ball into the basket. This clipboard method not only helps the players understand how to make a basket, but also gives the entire team the idea without the defending/opposing team figuring out. The clipboard method is very popular throughout the basketball world and the most commonly effective technique.
