In the song "4 Years Old" by Chris Brown, he claims that material things can only satisfy you for so long before you realize that there is a bigger picture. For example, "I guess I was faking cause look at all the money I'm making, still nothing can compare to the thought of love." This line from the song shows that Chris Brown was "faking" his happiness, or it could mean that he was "tricked" into being happy. He was so blinded by his success and buying houses, shoes, cars, etc. that he felt on top of the world and felt that he needed nothing else. He realizes that when you get to the root of everything, nothing feels better than knowing that you have people out there that love and care for you. Like the saying goes, money cannot buy happiness. Usually, when celebrities do interviews and are asked about friendships or relationships they talk about how they don't really date or have a lot of friends because they don't know if people want to get to know them for them or for their money. Chris Brown just wants someone to love him for him not his money!
In another part of the song he says, "I'm so alone, I'm so alone. So alone in this world, got everything I want!" This is just another example of how Chris feels that he has everything he could ever have dreamt of, but it means nothing to him because he has no one to celebrate it with. What's the point of having the world if you have no one to share it with? He realized that the wealth can only bring him temporary happines.
